Synergy of Mind, Beauty, and Sound: The Philosophy of Wholeness of Dr. GAM

The modern world is accustomed to narrow specialization, yet truly large-scale personalities prove that the most powerful projects are born at the intersection of polar disciplines. Maria — a doctor of psychiatry, successful businesswoman, international expert in aesthetic medicine, holder of prestigious titles, and musician — has created a unique ecosystem where science and art reinforce one another. In this candid interview, she shares how her psychiatric background changes the approach to cosmetology, why her upcoming book is written in the format of a narcissist's confession, and how neoclassical music is capable of healing human souls.

Maria, you uniquely combine the roles of a doctor of psychiatry, businesswoman, and public figure. How do you find a balance between these spheres, and what is the main "secret" behind each of them "complementing the other, creating a holistic picture of life"?

I do not separate these roles — for me, it is a single system. Psychiatry gives me a depth of understanding of a human being, aesthetic medicine is a tool of external transformation, and public activity is an opportunity to scale this impact.

My principle is not to seek a balance between spheres, but to build them so that they reinforce each other. When you understand the patient’s psychology, you are not just working with a face, but with their self-perception. When you create an aesthetic result, you change not only the appearance, but also the internal state.

The “secret” is that I do not switch between roles — I remain myself in each of them. And that is exactly what creates wholeness.

Your brand Dr. GAM and clinic occupy a central place in your activity. How do you define your philosophy of aesthetics and beauty, and how do you integrate your deep knowledge in psychiatry with aesthetic medicine approaches?

My philosophy is benefiting humanity through the concept “inner beauty forms the outer, and the outer reinforces the inner,” understanding the importance of individuality and distinctiveness in general.

I never work solely with aesthetics. Behind every patient’s request stands a psycho-emotional state, self-esteem, personal story. And thanks to my psychiatric background, I see deeper than standard cosmetology. My approach is not procedures, but systemic work with a person as a whole personality.

You are also known as an art photographer. How does your mastery in working with visual images, light, and shadow help you in creating a strong personal image and promoting the Dr. GAM brand?

Photography is a continuation of my professional mindset. Working with light and shadow is, in essence, the same thing as working with a face. You understand structure, volume, dynamics. You see how the slightest change alters perception. My visual vision directly affects the result in aesthetics — I work not as a technician, but as a person who sees the final image.

From a brand perspective, this gives a very strong advantage: I do not just create a result — I know how to package, present, and convey it.

In 2023, you received the titles of Mrs Great Britain, Mrs Millennium, and Mrs World Queen's Special Ambassador. How have these achievements influenced your career as a whole, and which of them became the most significant "platform for communication" with the audience on topics important to you?

Competitions became for me not so much a personal achievement, but a platform for expanding influence.

They provided: an international audience, recognition, and the opportunity to talk about topics important to me — self-worth, the inner strength of a woman, conscious beauty.

If I were to highlight the main point — it is not the crown as a symbol, but access to a wider audience and the opportunity to convey my philosophy.

Besides beauty pageants, in what major international forums, aesthetic conferences, or public events have you taken part over the past year? What feedback about your philosophy have you received at these venues?

Over the past year, I participated in a number of international events related to aesthetic medicine and personal branding.

For me, this is not just participation — it is an exchange of experience and the formation of a new professional perspective on the industry.

The most valuable response I receive: people feel that my approach is different — it is deeper, more meaningful, and goes beyond standard aesthetics. It is precisely this that forms a new trend today: the transition from “procedures” to working with the patient’s personality.

You have been part of the Global Talent Confederation project for over a year now. What new ideas or changes in your professional vision and approach to creative or public activities have occurred during this period?

This project became an environment of strong people for me, where a different mindset is formed.

During this period, I reconsidered my approach to public activity: I became more structured, more strategic, and began to think on a larger scale, rather than just about the result “here and now.”

Your career is closely linked to science and public activity. Tell us about the most significant event or new project over the past year.

The most significant direction for me right now is the integration of psychiatry and aesthetic medicine into one inseparable whole. I am working on projects that demonstrate how external changes affect a person’s psycho-emotional state.

This direction is currently undervalued, but the future of the industry lies behind it.

Earlier you mentioned that you plan to create a musical group and record an album. What of these musical plans were you able to implement over the past year?

Music for me is not just creativity, but a way of expressing an internal state. As well as an opportunity to pay tribute to humanity. At the moment, I am already in the process of recording my first music album in the neo-classic style. This album is my most cherished dream in life, and I cannot wait to share it with you.

You actively develop your personal brand Dr. GAM. What key business decisions or steps have you taken over the last year to bring the clinic to an international level, as you planned, and what results are already noticeable?

This year became a stage of serious professional growth for me: the development of the international brand Dr. GAM®, working with an international audience, perfecting authorial methods, and completing postgraduate studies in aesthetic medicine at the University of London.

You see the development of your career over the next five years in three spheres at once. What are your main goals and ambitious projects in aesthetics (clinic), science/public activity, and music for this period?

I see development in three directions:

Aesthetics: Opening an international educational platform in the direction of “psycho-cosmetology and aesthetic medicine.”

Literature: The book “Almost Normal: The inner monologue of a narcissist — dissected by a psychiatrist.” This is a hybrid project at the junction of psychiatry and literature, where the internal monologue of a person with narcissistic traits is revealed without direct interpretation. The reader becomes an observer and “plays out” the role of the character themselves, forming their own conclusions. The book explores the border between norm and pathology and offers a deeper, personal understanding of the psyche.

Music: First album (title is still being formed). Right now I am recording my first album in the neoclassical music style, as well as separate original songs in my own performance. I believe that my music inspires, heals, and motivates toward the best that exists within every person. My task as a composer is to manifest this.

Your book "Almost Normal" explores the psychology of narcissism. Why did you choose the "confession" format, and what should the reader take away from this immersion into someone else's subconscious?

“Almost Normal” is not an attempt to justify narcissism, nor is it an attempt to demonize a person with this disorder. It was important for me to show the internal monologue of a person who often looks confident and strong on the outside, but inside lives in constant conflict with themselves, fear of vulnerability, and the need for love.

I chose the “confession” format because a dry clinical presentation does not allow one to feel how this mindset is structured from the inside. I wanted the reader not simply to study pathology, but for a time to find themselves inside someone else’s consciousness — and, perhaps, recognize themselves in certain reactions.

I think that the book is not only about narcissism. It is about human nature, trauma, defenses, and about how thin the line can be between strength and inner emptiness.

You are recording an album in the neoclassical style. How do the insights of a psychiatrist help you create music that "heals," and will this album become part of your professional brand Dr. GAM?

Music for me is a continuation of psychotherapy, only without words. As a psychiatrist, I understand very well how much sound, rhythm, and pauses affect a person’s emotional state. Sometimes a single melody is capable of doing what long conversations cannot.

My neoclassical album is built not around a demonstration of technique, but around a state — of silence, memory, inner light, a feeling of safety, and emotional release. Perhaps it is precisely the medical and psychological education that helps me create music intuitively, yet at the same time deeply understanding human emotional processes.

Undoubtedly, this project will become part of the Dr. GAM brand, because for me, aesthetics, psychology, music, and a person’s internal state are always interconnected. I have never separated beauty into solely outer or inner — for me, it is a single system.

Looking beyond the planning horizon: what 10 years from now will become your main achievement — recognition of the "psycho-cosmetology" method in global science, the success of your musical project, or something greater?

In 10 years, I would like my main achievement to be not just one thing, but the opportunity to unite several directions into a single philosophy — medicine, aesthetics, psychology, creativity, and the human condition.

Of course, the development of the “psycho-cosmetology” method and the recognition that external transformation cannot be completely separated from a person’s psycho-emotional state are important to me. But even more important for me is to leave behind not just a professional brand, but a certain influence on people: through treatment, art, music, education, and ideas.

Looking even broader, my goal is to create projects that help a person not only look better, but also understand themselves deeper, feel an inner anchor, and maintain a connection with their true nature.

Maria's example clearly demonstrates that ambitious goals require complex thinking. Refusing conventional templates and stereotypes of the beauty industry, she creates a new global trend — the transition from isolated procedures to deep work with personality. Regardless of the tool through which her philosophy is conveyed — whether authorial techniques at the Dr. GAM clinic, the pages of the book "Almost Normal," or neoclassical medical symphonies — the ultimate goal remains unchanged: to help a person find inner support and true harmony with themselves.
