Mayya’s life is a true map of the world. Born in Kyiv, she spent her youth in bright, sun-drenched Havana, and later returned to Ukraine to study at Kyiv University. For the last 33 years, Barcelona has been her home. This “mix” of cultures formed her open outlook on the world: Slavic soulfulness, Cuban expression, and Spanish freedom became the foundation of her unique worldview. Mayya has started her life from scratch more than once, proving that each such start makes a person stronger.

Mayya did not plan to become an artist. Her gift manifested suddenly and during the most difficult time—at the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine. While hosting a fellow artist friend at her home, Mayya picked up a tool for the first time.
“It was like a flash of light! Surprise, delight, and disbelief—am I really capable of this? It was the discovery of a key to an unknown door within me,” she recalls. Her first work—orchids—became a symbol for her that the impossible is possible.
Victory Over "Imposter Syndrome"
Despite her success, Mayya honestly admits that she struggled with internal doubt for a long time. Overcoming this “imposter” she considers her main life achievement. Accepting her gift as a present from fate allowed her to move forward with incredible speed.
