She is a true phenomenon: at a young age, Karolina Pyrynets has already conquered catwalks, film sets and international competition stages. This young Ukrainian girl masterfully combines the talents of a model, actress and musician, winning top awards and proudly representing her country. In this interview, we will delve into the world of her creativity, learn the secrets of her success and find out what this extremely determined young woman dreams of.
You have so many talents: music, acting, modelling. How do you manage to do everything? Is there a secret to your productivity?
I manage to do everything thanks to good time management: after school, I pursue all my interests. It helps a lot that my acting and modelling classes are online, while my music and other classes are offline. I don’t have any secrets; I’m a very creative person, and everything I do is my favourite thing. I live every day with songs, dancing and music.
You represent Ukraine at international competitions. How do you feel at such moments, and how important is this to you?
Representing Ukraine at international competitions is a great honour and a big responsibility for me. At these moments, I feel proud of my country, because I understand that I am not only representing myself on stage, but also the whole of Ukraine. This inspires me to show the best I can do and, at the same time, motivates me to work even harder to make every performance worthy. It is important to me that other countries see and feel Ukrainian talent, emotionality and the power of our culture. Each competition is not only a contest, but also an opportunity to show the world that Ukraine has bright, talented and determined people who are capable of achieving great results.
Which of your competition wins was the most unexpected and why?
Probably winning the Mini Miss Ukraine 2024 contest. There were 50 beautiful and talented girls in this contest, and there was only one crown, so of course every participant dreamed of winning it. I always prepare very carefully for each competition: I hone my talent and select special dresses. When my name was announced at the 25th anniversary National Mini Miss Ukraine Festival, I felt incredible happiness. It is almost impossible to convey these emotions in words. For me, this victory was real proof that I am on the right path and that my calling is to bring happiness and joy to people. It is particularly symbolic that I first took part in this competition in 2023, winning the title of Mini Top Model of Ukraine — Grand Prix, and in 2024 my cherished dream came true — I became the winner of the main ‘Golden Crown’ and the title ‘Mini Miss Ukraine 2024 — Grand Prix’. I am infinitely grateful to the jury members for their high assessment of my work, trust and support. I will proudly wear these titles, because for me they are not only an award, but also a great responsibility: to represent Ukraine with dignity at beauty and talent contests.
You played the lead role in the film. Tell us what it's like to be on set and how acting differs from modelling.
An actress must live the role, know the script, and show emotions in a way that pleases the director and the audience. The work of a model is completely different: you must always be in good shape, know how to walk the runway, and present yourself correctly in front of the camera.
Tell us about your experience playing the violin and piano. What kind of music do you like best?
I have been playing the violin and piano for five years. Music has always been a source of inspiration and joy for me. I love all genres of music, because each piece has its own special emotion and story. Playing the violin allows me to convey deep, lyrical moods, and the piano opens up boundless space for experimentation and self-expression. Music inspires me to develop and gives me a sense of harmony in life.
If you had to choose only one direction for your development — music, acting or modelling — what would you choose and why?
It would be very difficult for me to choose just one direction, because they are all equally dear to me. I have been singing since early childhood, I have been involved in music and modelling since I was six, and each of these paths opens up new opportunities for me. But if I had to make a choice, I would stick with music, because it is through music that I can most fully convey my emotions and bring happiness to people. At the same time, I dream of continuing to combine singing, acting, modelling and filming, because together they help me develop in all areas.
You are a professional singer. Which song do you most enjoy performing and why?
I am a professional singer, and my favourite song to perform is ‘Heal the World.’ It is gentle and conveys an important message: people should be kinder to one another. This song is inspiring and helps convey sincere emotions to listeners. I also enjoy performing Ukrainian songs, as they convey the depth of our culture and the soulfulness of our people. For me, music is a way to share kindness and emotions with others.
In addition to your main activities, you have hobbies — drawing and dancing. How do they help you relax and find inspiration?
Dancing allows you to relax to your favourite music, while painting requires inspiration and opens up new emotions.
You have already achieved so much that it seems you can do anything. What else do you dream of?
There is currently a war in my country, so my biggest dream is peace and victory for Ukraine. I dream of winning a Grammy, winning top prizes in beauty and singing competitions, conquering the catwalks and glorifying our Ukraine by showing the world how talented and beautiful we are. Ukraine is in my heart, and I want the whole world to see it!
Which artists do you consider to be your role models and why?
I am inspired by many artists, because each of them has something special that is worth learning from. These include Adele for the power of her voice, Billie Eilish for her courage to be herself, Katy Perry for her energy and good mood, and Ariana Grande for her voice. Among Ukrainian artists, I admire Tina Karol, who is a symbol of female strength and tenderness, Artem Pivovarov for his profound lyrics, and YakTak for his songs about life that motivate and support. In each of them, I see an example for myself: sincerity, uniqueness, professionalism, love for the listener, and the ability to inspire people.
You were awarded the Children Are the Pride of Ukraine Order. What does this award mean to you?
Receiving the Children Are the Pride of Ukraine Order is a great honour for me.
It is not only recognition of my work, but also a great responsibility to be worthy of this title. I am grateful for the trust placed in me and happy that my work brings benefit and pride to Ukraine.
What advice would you give to other children who are just starting out on their creative journey and are afraid of difficulties?
My advice to those who are just
starting out on their creative journey: don’t be afraid of difficulties and always believe in yourself. Be bold and persistent, overcome all obstacles and never stop.
