Behind every masterpiece lies a secret, an untold story. Asmik Bleyan's art is not just images, but invisible threads connecting the viewer with the artist's deep emotions and experiences. Imagine a still frame from a film where every element is filled with meaning and the character's gaze tells a whole drama. This is exactly how Asmik works, creating entire worlds on canvas, inspired by cinema, inner states and sincerity. We invite you on a journey through her unique artistic space, where the brush becomes a voice and the paints become the language of the soul.
Multicultural Roots
Asmik was born in Armenia, but spent most of her childhood and youth in Georgia, her mother’s homeland. It was in Tbilisi that she graduated from two art schools, immersing herself in the world of creativity from a very young age.
Family First
For many years, Asmik dedicated herself to raising her two wonderful daughters, of whom she is very proud. Her creative work took a backseat, but as she herself admits, it “never disappeared; it lived inside, waiting for its time.”
Return to Origins in Kuwait
Moving to Kuwait became a turning point. When Asmik finally had the time and opportunity to focus on herself, she naturally and without hesitation returned to painting. It wasn’t a deliberate decision, but an inner urge that marked the beginning of a new stage in her art.
Teaching Experience
Before her move, Asmik not only taught art in school but also worked as a decorator artist in a kindergarten. She created a fairytale atmosphere, decorating walls and props, inspiring children not just with technical skills but also with belief in themselves and their imagination. Her works still adorn kindergarten walls, bringing joy to little ones.
Cinema as Inspiration
Asmik works with oil painting on large canvases, creating stories inspired by cinema, emotions, and inner states. Each painting for her is like a still frame from a film, filled with mood, character, and an internal narrative. Through her works, she expresses what she cannot say with words
Sincerity – The Core Principle
For Asmik, the most important thing is to be honest in her art. She doesn’t copy or imitate; she always tells only her own story, her own experiences, and her feelings. This sincerity is her highest value.
Master of Digital Art
Besides classical painting, Asmik actively uses digital formats, working in Procreate, and studying Photoshop and Figma. Digital painting became for her not a replacement, but an alternative means of self-expression, especially when she can’t work with a canvas. Digital art often saves her from creative stagnation.
Combining Tradition and Modernity
In her paintings, Asmik combines classical painting with elements of contemporary art. The school of realistic painting is close to her, but she often adds abstract details to express what cannot be conveyed literally. She masterfully finds the balance between form and feeling, tradition and experimentation.
Creativity from Within
Asmik never works on demand; each of her paintings is born from an inner state and feeling. She doesn’t adapt to trends or expectations, starting a piece only when there’s an internal resonance. For her, it’s vital that the work is alive and honest.
Music as a Muse
While working, Asmik almost always listens to music. It helps her focus, enter the right state, and even influences the style of the painting. Sometimes, a background musical mood leads to completely unexpected results on the canvas.
Visual Stories of Creativity
Asmik enjoys creating mini-reels and videos about her works, turning the painting process into a small documentary film. She works with various programs herself to showcase the energy and mood that emerge during the creative process.
Global Recognition
Thanks to her talent, Asmik became a jury member for Golden Time Talent and part of the Global Talent Confederation community – an international platform that supports creative people from all over the world. She resonates with the idea of helping artists discover and promote their talent, something she genuinely loves and excels at.
